West Yorkshire Manufacturing Services (WYMS) is delighted to announce Jill Wheeler as the new CEO. Jill, a trustee of Yorkshire Mediation Services, has over 25 years of senior management experience in the not-for-profit sector.
Jill’s experience spans finance, business development, business strategy and governance within the NHS, DWP and Welfare to Work Sectors. Over the past eight years, she has worked solely in the charitable sector.
Impressively in her last role, Jill successfully increased business volumes by 1000% and profits by more than 650% in just five years.
This new appointment comes at a good time, following a period of uncertainty for West Yorkshire Manufacturing Services when the organisation was rescued from closure in early 2020 by the current Board of Trustees.
Jill commented, “I am delighted to take up the CEO position with West Yorkshire Manufacturing Services at such an exciting time. I have two sons who are currently completing apprenticeships in engineering, and I am hugely passionate about skills development within the manufacturing and engineering sectors. This is becoming ever more important following Brexit. Equally, as businesses recover from the impact of Covid, there is more focus than ever before on the benefits of both accredited training and collaborative working. At WYMS, we can provide both within the same facility. We have ambitious plans to extend the range of courses on offer, supporting local manufacturing and engineering businesses and various businesses across Yorkshire and beyond.”
WYMS, formerly Kirkdale Industrial Training Services, provides several accredited training courses in First Aid, Health and Safety and Mental Wellbeing aimed at businesses across Yorkshire.
The Brighouse training centre also benefits from a bespoke training facility, conference facilities and meeting rooms just off Junction 25 of the M62, making it accessible for a range of meetings, events and seminars with a capacity range from 4 to 110 delegates.
Andrew Denford, Chairman of the Board of Trustees, added, “Jill is a significant appointment for WYMS.
